In January 2024, our experienced team carried out a full sash window overhaul at a property in Southend, following a detailed assessment of the existing windows. The aim of the project was to restore the windows to full working order while improving their performance and extending their lifespan, all without compromising the original appearance of the property.
Each sash window was carefully removed and taken through our comprehensive overhaul process. This involved stripping the sashes back where required, replacing worn or damaged beading, and installing new high quality draught stripping to significantly reduce air infiltration and rattling. Particular attention was paid to the moving parts of the windows to ensure smooth operation and correct alignment once refitted.
After the upgrades were completed, the sashes were meticulously reinstalled into their original frames. The result was a noticeable improvement in ease of use, thermal efficiency, and overall comfort within the property. At the same time, the original character and visual integrity of the windows were preserved, ensuring the finished work blended seamlessly with the existing architecture while delivering modern performance benefits.
