Our in-house joinery team recently crafted a bespoke Sapele hardwood front door for a residential property in Fulham. The brief was particularly demanding, as the client wanted the new door to faithfully match an original period door still in place at a neighbouring property. Their own door had been removed some time ago, so accuracy and attention to detail were essential.
By carefully studying the neighbouring example, we were able to replicate all of the original profiles, proportions, and subtle quirks that gave the door its character. This allowed us to recreate a door that looks entirely authentic and perfectly suited to the property, while discreetly incorporating modern construction techniques and insulation standards to improve performance and longevity.
In addition to the timber work, we also reproduced the original stained glass design using a specialist product known as Future Units. This ensured the glazing retained its traditional appearance while benefiting from modern efficiency and durability. The end result is a front door that blends seamlessly with its surroundings, looks genuinely original, and meets contemporary expectations for comfort and quality.
We take great pride in producing joinery of this standard and in delivering solutions that respect the architectural heritage of a property without compromising on modern performance.
